Wimbledon fever has come early to Lancaster as a tennis club prepares to throw open its courts for a special event.
Bowerham Lawn Tennis Club is inviting locals to take advantage of a sporting offer to play free this weekend.
The open-afternoon is part of a Play Tennis 2004 campaign to get people of all ages involved in the sport.
Sue Greenwood, of Bowerham Tennis Club, says: "We hope lots of people will come along and try their hand at tennis, or pick up a racquet again if they used to play years ago. It's a fantastic game and this open afternoon gives everyone a chance to have a go."
There will also be prizes on the day.
The Barton Road club has four all-weather courts, a practice wall, large clubhouse with bar and viewing area.
Anyone who wants to play can just turn up this Sunday, June 13. Or, for more details call Sue on 01524-735936.
