A RAMSBOTTOM father-of-two has died after collapsing while out fell running.
The man, believed to be in his mid-40s and a regular runner, was out running with a friend on Friday when he stopped for a rest and keeled over.
Emergency services including the Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team were called but the man, who has not been named, died at the scene. The pair were out running on Holcombe Moor and had stopped at Pilgrim's Cross.
Mountain Rescue team leader Dave Barrington said: "The pair were regular runners and had stopped for a breather when the man keeled over. His friend had a very difficult choice but decided to leave him and go for help. They were a mile-and-half off the road at the time so the victim really didn't stand a chance."
