BURNLEY residents raised £51.12 on World Animal Lab Day to help the fight for the 100 million animals which suffer and die in experiments every year.
The money raised will go towards establishing further highly effective non-animal research techniques, including those using computer modelling and human-tissues technologies.
People of Burnley have been exceptionally generous and their efforts will be paramount in helping us to fight against the continued archaic and brutal research that involves animals being burned, blinded, mutilated, poisoned and starved in tests which are unreliable, unethical and unnecessary.
JAN CREAMER, Chief Executive, National Anti-Vivisection Society.
