POLICE are hunting a teenager with a "wonky eye" after he attacked a woman in a playground.
Shortly before noon on Thursday, a 42-year-old woman was walking through the children's park in Victoria Lane, Whitefield, when she was approached from behind by a teenager riding a bicycle.
The offender failed to grab the woman's handbag, but ripped a gold chain from her neck. The chain fell to the floor and the robber made off with a ring and pendant from the chain.
The woman was not injured, but was badly shaken.
The robber was white, aged 16, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim to medium build, with dark hair, a pale complexion, and a "wonky" eye.
He was wearing a flat-link gold bracelet on his right wrist, a dark long-sleeved hooded top, and dark trouser bottoms.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or knows the identity of the robber is asked to contact Bury Robbery Unit on 0161 856 8093.
