EAST Lancashire businesses were in the grip of a Budget boom as shoppers snapped up VAT goods before price increases came in.
Money savers rushed to stores as soon as their doors opened and by lunchtime traders were describing it as chaotic.
Spirits, cigarettes, furniture, household goods and even cars were among the goods in big demand as the price deadline approached.
