TWO Darwen Scouts were given the honour of travelling with the deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Blackburn with Darwen to one a civic engagement.
Twelve-year-old Thomas Leger and 14-year-old Oliver Halliwell, members of the Whitehall Scout Troop, acted as escorts to Coun David and Coun Karimeh Foster when they travelled in the Mayor's car to an open day at Bowley Scout Camp and Activity Centre, Great Harwood.
The VIP guests were shown around the recently improved scout camp and new children's huts which have been installed. They were paid for through several bequests and cash raised through the funds of local Mayors.
