ENVIRONMENTAL health officers have hit local classrooms in a bid to teach youngsters the importance of not leaving their pooch's poop behind in the street.
Ribble Valley Council has sent officers to local schools as part of its clampdown on dog fouling.
Environmental health manager James Russell said: "We want to get the message home to youngsters from as young a age as possible that it is very important not to let your dog foul in the street."
Other aspects of the campaign include using CCTV to catch dirty dog owners, and targeting particular poop hotspots.
