IN respect of the six councillors who left the Labour Party several days after being elected as a Labour councillor, I feel this is a question of integrity.
I am willing to accept that a meeting of ward voters accepted their reason for withdrawing but their election was as a party representative.
The electorate as a whole should have the opportunity to decide on their change. The only honourable way is to resign and stand for re-election on their true non-party affiliation.
I call upon them, if they have any confidence in their position, to put it to the whole electorate through a by-election and not to accept power given to them by deceit.
BRIAN TODD, Heys Lane, Blackburn.
