A PENSIONER had her bag snatched as she walked home from a shopping trip in Rawtenstall town centre.
The 73-year-old woman was walking down Grange Road at around 11.30am on Wednesday, when young man approached her from behind and grabbed her shopping bag.
A window cleaner who witnessed the incident ran after the offender, who made off towards the town centre, but he lost sight of him near the market.
He found the woman's shopping bag, which had been abandoned during the chase, but £12 in cash, a Switch card and a front door key were missing.
Police said the victim was shocked and upset by the incident, but she was not injured.
The offender is described as a white male, in his teens, about 5ft 9ins and of slim build. He was wearing a cream jacket, blue baseball cap, dark trousers and white trainers.
