AT a meeting with councillors Denise Bigg and Yvonne Creswell we were told that the telecommunications mast proposed for the site of Bury Plant Hire in Whitelegge Street, Bury, had already been approved "behind closed doors".
As local residents, our views should have been heard and not swept under the carpet.
This is not an "industrial" area, as it was described to us. It is residential. There are a lot more houses and people here than businesses.
There is also documented evidence that these masts cause sickness and headaches as well as other long-term health problems. The council clearly does not care about the health of our young children.
Between Bury Plant Hire and Bury Council we have been well and truly stitched-up for the sake of their wealth, and not our health.
RESIDENTS,
St James' Avenue, Bury.
