I HAVE been following the saga of the six defectors and I cannot understand the philosophy of the Tory and Liberal councillors who are prepared to link up with such people who are so unsuitable to hold public office.

Surely these six turncoats should be isolated and the Tories and Liberals should operate like the Labour members and retain their dignity by not associating with them.

I do not hold any allegiance for any particular political group as I am influenced by the calibre of the candidates and their manifestos.

I fail to see how I can be influenced in the future by any party that is opportunist and will align themselves with people who have no interest in the welfare of all of the residents of this borough.
