THE draws for the early rounds of the FA Trophy and FA Cup were made yesterday and, as far as local interest goes, the tie of the FA Cup Preliminary Round was thrown up.
North West Counties First Division side Bacup Borough were drawn at home to UniBond First Division outfit Chorley.
The rest of the draws are as follows:
FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round - Nelson v Chester-le-Street Town, Peterlee Newtown v Colne.
All ties must be played on August 28 (kick-off 3pm) with replays on or before September 2 (kick-off 7.45pm).
FA Cup Preliminary Round - Padiham v Billingham Synthonia, Clitheroe v Tow Law Town, Bacup Borough v Chorley, Great Harwood Town v Glashoughton Welfare, Nelson or Chester-le-Street Town v Peterlee Newtown or Colne, Ramsbottom United v Evenwood Town, Darwen v Brandon United, Rossendale United v Newcastle Blue Star or Liversedge.
