EIGHT men have appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged in connection with an incident in the Postal Order pub on Darwen Street, Blackburn, following the Rovers verses Manchester United match on May 1.
All eight defendants face a charge of affray and they were ordered to stand trial at Preston Crown Court after some of them elected to have their cases heard there.
The eight, who were all remanded on bail until August 25 are: Lee Mason Newall, 35, of School Street, Westhoughton; Derek Roberts, 38, of Billington Gardens, Billington; Andrew Broad, 37, of Shap Close, Baxenden; Ian Mark Taylor, 25, of Victoria Street, Oswaldtwistle, Sean Flaherty, 35, of Malvern Avenue, Blackburn; Andrew Watson, 33, of Prunella Drive, Lower Darwen; Terrence Robert Watson, 45, of Griffin Street, Blackburn, and Daniel Robert Sharman, 18, of Springfield Road, Nelson.
