DAVE Challinor wore the skipper's armband against Manchester City on Wednesday evening - and that's the way it's going to stay.
The dominant defender who signed from Stockport County in the summer has been handed the captaincy for the new campaign, taking over from Lee Duxbury.
"Yes, Dave will be captain for the season," confirmed Bury boss Graham Barrow.
"We should really have a team meeting about it but with training we've not had time.
"However, he was brought in as a leader and we're delighted he's back with us."
