Family fun garden party

TOMORROW sees the Parish of West Burnley Craft Fair & Garden Party take place between 10.30am and 4.30pm at Gawthorpe Hall. Attractions are expected to include a Scottish international footballer, over 30 stalls, crafts, a band and Bacup Coconutters.

The theme is Owd Lancashire, entry is £2, or £4 for a family ticket.

POLICE in Pennine Division claim their open day next Saturday will be a really magical experience.

Not only will people of all ages be able to take a peek behind the scenes of their local police force, watch a mock trial at the magistrates court, meet armed officers and the police drugs dog, but they will also be able to enjoy free entertainment, including a face painter and magician.

The event will take place from 10am-4pm with the aim of helping people find out more about the work of the local police and pick up free information and advice.

AN ADULTS crafts night will start in the near future at the Action Group Shop every Wednesday if there is enough interest.

There are also plans for a Tuesday craft night for youngsters in the coming weeks.

Anyone interested should call at the shop to enrol.

THE TUESDAY walkers from Rosegrove enjoyed a lovely afternoon in brilliant sunshine last week.

The group called at Sherry Mill on the way to Padiham to quench their thirst with a cup of tea.

If anyone would like to join them for future walks they should be at the Action Group shop on Tuesdays at 1pm.

ANOTHER great Star Cabaret night was held at the Rosegrove Railway Club recently. A packed house was entertained by vocalist Carl Ashington and top comedienne and vocalist Donna Elson.

ST MARKS Church has issued an open invitation to afternoon tea in the Vicarage at 2pm tomorrow.

The church's Family Social Evening will also be held tomorrow, from 7.30pm.
