Over 800 Civil Servants from Department and Work and Pensions were given a chance to understand the true meaning of "Islamic Faith".

It was an attempt to build bridges between Muslims and Non-Muslims, promote greater understanding and produce a more harmonious working environment.

After the tragic events of 11th September it was important to create and show colleagues about the true meaning of "ISLAM" which has been portrayed as terrorist religion. During the 3 day event free leaflets were given out on "Discover Islam", Women's Rights in Islam, Ramadan, British Muslims, etc.

Kathy Goodwin (Unit Manager) for Carers Allowance said, " I was particularly interested in the range of leaflets explaining the role of Women in Islam - " Beyond Stereotypes" and an outline of the Qur'an. My understanding of Islam was certainly extended by this display".

Also members of staff were given the chance to have there name written in Arabic Calligraphy. The event was organised by Faz Patel and Carers Allowance Learning & Development Team.
