RADCLIFFE'S roller skating sisters Lynsey and Aimi Lightowler certainly have the world at their feet!
And their friendly rivalry in a host of British roller skating competitions keeps each girl on their toes.
Next month they will be heading off to Sardinia, hoping to bring back a clutch of medals in the sport's European Championships.
Recently, 25-year-old Lynsey tasted success when she won the seniors artistic class in roller skating's British Solo Dance Championship staged in Aylesbury. And sister Aimi (21), came third in the same category.
It was the fourth successive year that Lynsey had secured the title which involves two compulsory dances and a freestyle dance.
Later, the sisters competed against each other in a separate competition in Middlesbrough. Lynsey triumphed in four categories -- while Aimi came second in the same classes.
Asked how they enjoyed competing against other in roller skating championships, Lynsey said: "We keep each other on our toes. Taking part in the same competitions helps us both improve and the rivalry is extremely friendly."
Now the sisters, who live in Eastfields, Radcliffe, will be flying the flag for the UK in the European Championships in Sardinia. Both Lynsey and Aimi are members of the Manchester Roller Skating Club.
