MORE than 100 mourners said a final farewell to a Preston antiques expert on Monday.
A glass, horse-drawn carriage brought the coffin of Edna Ferguson, 80, to St Ignatius Church, Meadow Street, Preston, where the Frank Sinatra classic, My Way, was played prior to a requiem mass.
After the service the funeral cortege made its way to Meadow Street, where Mrs Ferguson had owned an antiques shop during the 1960s, and family and friends walked in sombre tribute, prior to internment at Preston Cemetery.
Her son, Brian Beck, who owns an antiques shop in Guildhall Street, Preston, said: "I'll always remember her as a woman who always smiled.
"No matter how bad she felt or how bad things got she always had a smile.
"She even had one on the day she died."
Mrs Ferguson died at Royal Preston Hospital on Saturday, July 31.
