GENEROUS blood donors were honoured with golden awards. Six blood donors had been rewarded for giving 50 pints of blood over the years.
Vicar's wife, Carol Ratcliffe, of St Paul's Church, Oswaldtwistle had been donating since she was at university and Ronald Brown, a weaver from Clayton-le-Moors had been donating for 20 years.
One donor said: "It is something we can do that doesn't require any skill and it is a desire to help in a practical but necessary way."
