TWO games and two draws is a good start - but we need to start getting aggressive.

I felt that the first month would be difficult given the fixtures, and I know that most Clarets fans would have taken the results we have gained in the first two games if they had been offered those before the start of the season.

But Steve Cotterill is right when he says that we are still three or four players away from having the squad we need.

While we started brightly enough against Sheffield United and played well in the first half, we didn't make too much of that pressure and that is down to a lack of firepower.

Both Ian Moore and Robbie Blake will get us goals, but I still feel that we need to have a more physical presence in our frontline.

To have a taller and stronger player up there who can win balls in the air is still a necessity in my book and hopefully Steve will be bringing in someone who fits that bill fairly soon.

But, having chatted to Steve in the pre-season, I know that he will take his time to find the right player for the job.

We sat down at the Dundee United friendly and while we could only fill three-quarters of the teamsheet space, they filled the lot.

But when I pointed that out, Steve said 'I could fill the space, but I would prefer to wait and get the players I want".

To be honest he is right and I think he is taking the right path forward, but still the sooner it happens the better.

But I have to say that the signs are good. We have improved, but it is also recognised that we can still improve - which has to be the way.

The Coca-Cola Championship is going to be very competitive this season, and I can also see it being very tight across the division, so we cannot squander too many points.

On early evidence the defence should not be too much of a problem.

The unit is very good with the keeper and the back four looking like a strong base to build on.

The two centre backs in fact are real gems - great signings who will serve us well.

But that is not enough and if we are really going to make a mark then another striker is what we need.
