A BLACKPOOL man has been jailed for holding estranged wife and her children at knife-point with a ten-inch blade.
Christopher Stewart, 48, of Dinmore Avenue, Grange Park, Blackpool, was sentenced to six months after pleading guilty to affray at Preston Crown Court.
The court heard how, in March this year, Stewart became angry after discovering his wife of seven years, Ann, had changed the locks to their former home in Cedar Road, Ribbleton, Preston.
The police were called after Stewart gained entry to the property and went to grab the knife from the kitchen.
He then held the knife to his own throat before threatening his brother-in-law and an police officer inside the house.
After a short stand-off, allowed his wife and her children to leave the property.
Eventually Stewart plunged the blade into a wall as he told his wife he had "lost everything".
His counsel, Kath Johnson said he had never threatened his wife or intended to hurt anyone.
"He knows now that the relationship is irretrievable," Miss Johnson told the court.
