A MEMORIAL cricket match will take place tomorow as a tribute to a Pendle sportsman who died last year at the aged 35.
The match, in honour of Khizar Saeed, will start at 10am at Swinden and Bull Holme playing fields on the border of Nelson and Barrowford.
Thousands of people turned out last October for the funeral of the popular Pendle cricketer who had taken up a teaching career.
Mr Saeed collapsed and died while playing badminton with work colleagues.
He left a wife and three children.
He spent part of his childhood in Nelson after moving from Pakistan when he was 12, and attended Mansfield High School and Nelson and Colne College.
He taught at Salford College before moving to London where he was vice-principal of Ealing College.
