AS a mother with a son serving in the Queen's Lancashire Regiment I feel it would be inappropriate to change its name.
My son was in Basra for five months last year. He as on peace-keeping duties but still had to endure extreme temperatures and some hair-raising moments -- all in a day's work.
It was done with pride knowing he is a valued member of the QLR.
To take away their name means my son and hundreds more like him did all that work for nothing.
So let's stick to our name and keep our lads well earned pride for many more years to come.
J SMITHSON (Mrs), Glebe Street, Great Harwood.
