BURNLEY police won the football community cup competition they organised to foster links within the town.
Their final match against Jinnah in the over-17s competition went to sudden death during the contest at Towneley. A total of 26 teams took part in the event.
Rosehill Wanderers beat Bengal Stars Juniors Football Club on penalties to win the 11 to 14 group and England All Stars beat Big Dogs 2-1 in the 14 to 17 section.
One of the organisers PC Shaun Juriansz said: "It went very well and all the young people enjoyed it. The middle group 14 to 17-year-olds was very well attended.
"We managed to scrape through in the final and beat Jinnah on penalties after drawing the match 1-1.
"We're hoping the cup will continue. We're trying to bring people in the different areas of the town together through football."
