WALSHAW completed their Bolton Association campaign on a high, with a comprehensive away victory at Little Hulton.

The triumph was their sixth successive victory and gave them the league's 'Last Six' Trophy to go alongside the Cross Cup, which resides in their Sycamore Road clubhouse.

More than 1,100 runs have been scored in those half a dozen matches and there was further good news in that the club's junior section have won the Vimto Trophy for the most wins at under-13, under-15 and under-18 level.

At Little Hulton it was opening pair Danny Hornby and Rob Faulkner who led the way with a superb stand of 150.

When they departed, Tony Kelly took over and, with contributions from the rest of the batsmen, Walshaw took their total to an impressive 270-7.

Only Hulton professional Ijaz Mahmood (51) got any joy out of the Walshaw bowlers and the home side were all out for 121 before the rains set in.
