The ANDY LOCHHEAD column

EIGHT games gone and every supporter now knows just what Steve Cotterill's Burnley are all about.

Tough to break down, neat in their approach play and, thankfully, finding their way in front of goal against Crewe last week.

Forget the 0-0 at Wigan in midweek because that was always going to be a case of defending resolutely.

And while we are on the subject of defending, just how good has Danny Coyne been so far?

Very much the unsung hero, he pulled off two or three terrific saves last weekend that got lost in the euphoria of the Clarets going goal crazy!

But Danny has been nothing short of magnificent so far, and how good it is at last to see a confident, competent Burnley defence.

There can be nothing worse as a defender than not knowing how your number one is going to perform week in and week out and, last season, Brian Jensen would be the first to admit that he caused far too many flutters.

Danny has come in and, despite carrying a few niggly knocks, he has given us some stability that has spread right throughout the side.

I'm sure Danny will be busier tomorrow when he, Frank Sinclair and Steve Cotterill head back to an old stamping ground.

It's not often you get three people going back to their old club, so it's a big occasion for all of them.

But I think it is always a nice feeling to go back there playing well - or in Steve's case, managing well.

Let's just hope they still have that smile on their faces at 5pm because this could be the toughest task of the season so far.

Leicester have just started to pick up after a shaky start and it looks like their experienced players, like Martin Keown and Dion Dublin, are at last pulling their weight.

In many ways it is a game to nothing because most football pundits will be writing this one off as a home win.

But Burnley can go there hopeful - and hopefully it will be the old boys who come away with the points.
