A MOTORIST has been taken to hospital with leg injuries following a smash on a road between Read and Padiham today.
A Rover 25 was hit from behind with such force that the driver, from Clitheroe, ended up sat on the back seat with leg injuries.
The driver of the other car, a BMW, was also taken to Burnley General Hospital with minor injuries after the accident at 8.15am on the A671, between Read and the Shuttleworth link road.
Fire crews were also called to the scene to tackle a blaze that started in the engine of the Rover. Part of the road was closed as emergency services cleared the scene.
