COLNE manager Nigel Coates is hopes home comforts will lead to an FA Cup showdown with Accrington Stanley.

After two trips to the North East in cup competitions already this season, the Reds entertain Sheffield FC in the FA Cup first qualifying round tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

And Coates admitted that he has his sights set on a dream tie.

"If we get through the next couple of rounds and it does start to get interesting," he said.

"The Conference North and South sides will come into it, then the Conference teams.

"Somebody like Southport or one of the other local sides would be good for us. But to get Accrington Stanley would be great, especially for revenue.

"It would certainly create a lot of local interest."

But first, Colne need to get past Northern Counties East Premier Division side Sheffield FC.

And Coates' squad is boosted by the return of Paul Walker and Gary Rishton, although Keiron Roberts is unavailable.

However, captain Scott Gizon is well on the road to recovery following knee ligament surgery in the summer.

"He played at Great Harwood and came through okay," Coates said.

"He's still getting a reaction after games but that's only to be expected. It's mainly from the muscles that he hasn't used.

"It's just a case of building them up again."

He added: "Sheffield have had a decent start and were beaten for only the first time this season last Saturday.

"But we haven't hit our peak yet."
