THERE are frequent complaints about car parking in Bury. This is another!
My wife was delayed by the till "crashing" in one of Bury's stores and when she returned to her car -- six minutes late -- she found that she had a fine notice for £60.
I accept that for such an "offence" the penalty of a day's parking charge could be levied, or maybe a £10 fine, but a fine as high as £60 should be reserved for those who park illegally on double yellow lines, or park without a ticket.
We can park free at the Trafford Centre, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and any number of other places that we shop.
So what has happened now is that we are £60 worse off and Bury has lost us as customers -- and probably lost the rest of our family as well.
And if the powers-that-be in Bury don't review their parking policy we will not be the last.
T. GRIFFITHS,
Heywood.
