AN Accrington man convicted of drug trafficking offences has been jailed for four years.
Preston Crown Court was told that Mahmood Jaber, 21, had brought shame on his family who only found out after reading a newspaper report.
Jaber, of Arncliffe Avenue, was convicted following a trial at Burnley Crown Court of two offences of possession of Class A drugs - crack cocaine and heroin - with intent to supply.
Jonathan Clarke, prosecuting, said that when a search warrant was executed at Jaber's home on November 5 last year drugs with a street value of £540 were found.
He told police he knew nothing about them but later said he had paid £350 for the drugs and they were for his personal use.
