THE wife of a man who died at the hands of his ex-mistress has forgiven him for the affair.

Mohammed Nadeem died when Kelly Hyslop picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed him at a house in Commercial Road, Great Harwood, in February.

Hyslop, from Huncoat, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter this week and is to be sentenced in November after psychiatric reports are prepared.

Preston Crown Court was told that Mr Nadeem, 28, of Steiner Street, Accrington, was abusive and violent to his girlfriend, but today his family said they knew him as a calm man who loved his children.

His wife Shaista has forgiven her husband for his infidelity after he had confessed to her that he had been seeing Kelly, 20.

Before his death, Mr Nadeem and his wife, Shaista, 26, had two children - Haddiqa, four, and Anisa, 18 months. Shaista was carrying the couple's third child at the time of his death, and three months ago gave birth to Saira.

Mr Nadeem had been seeing Kelly Hyslop, 20, for a number of years before the couple split. But the pair are believed to have had a fight at a house on Commercial Road, Great Harwood, and he was found dead by the police.

His sister, Gulshan Bibi, 32, from the Blackburn Road area of Accrington said: "We are happy that she has admitted it but we are not happy with manslaughter. It was a shock when we heard. We would rather see her charged with murder."
