A BUSINESSMAN who lost everything following an arson attack today told of his anger after the derelict premises were targeted again.

An emotional Kevin Shanley, 60, spoke after two blazes at Rockfield Mill, Blackburn.

He closed JS Shanley Motor Engineers in April after a fire ripped through the building and left it in need of demolition.

His insurance policy only paid a percentage of the business's £325,000 value because he had chosen a policy with limited cover for cost reasons -- leaving him with no choice but to shut down his company of 17 years. As well as Mr Shanley, four other people lost their jobs.

On Sunday, firefighters returned to the mill and spent about an hour extinguishing a fire which they said was started deliberately on the first floor.

Although the blaze was relatively minor compared to April's, it damaged an office area and equipment which had not been affected by the original fire. In addition, several windows were smashed.

Mr Shanley, of Langho, said he had already been made ill by the first ordeal and been put on antidepressants by his doctor.

But he said the latest fire was almost too much for him to take.

He said: ". It is something you can do without after everything that's happened. I have no business, nothing. I can't believe what has happened."

Five youths admitted causing the first blaze and were given six-month referral punishments by Blackburn Magistrates.

An 11-year-old boy has been charged with burglary, arson and criminal damage in connection with Sunday's blaze and is due to appear before Blackburn Youth Court on Tuesday.
