NEXT Tuesday, the community of Whitefield faces one of the most important days in its recent history.
Bury Council planning committee will make a decision on revised plans for the development of a Morrisons supermarket.
I urge committee members to make the right decision and approve an application which now adheres to all the requirements set our by the planning department.
Morrisons will provide the vibrant social and commercial centre the residents and traders of Whitefield have long deserved. After decades of decline, Whitefield can once again look forward to a strong identity and a bright future.
I look forward to working with all concerned to ensure that a positive decision on Tuesday is the beginning of an exciting new era for the town.
