RECENTLY, my wife was transporting an elderly disabled friend. Foolishly, when parking, the disabled parking permit was displayed wrong side up, so a penalty notice was issued.
No doubt owing to the many misunderstandings regarding parking, Bury MBC have produced an explanatory leaflet -- probably at considerable expense. Having previously had dealings with the authorities, I looked at the leaflet with interest.
One side of the Blue Badge is reproduced with the name in different languages. Of 11 translations, seven are wrong! If this makes me look like a clever-clogs, then note that the main mistake is in English!
Bury Council produces all sorts of guidance in Urdu, Punjabi and probably many other languages for the ubiquitous asylum-seekers. How many of those are wrong?
