THE new chairman of Bury West Area Board has urged residents to make their views heard at next week's meeting.
Councillor Yvonne Creswell says there are several important items on the agenda for October 20, including fireworks enforcement and an update on the campaign to get village green status for the lodges in Lowercroft.
Also up for discussion is the future of the Elton Youth and Community Centre, and improvements to the Brandlesholme and Mile Lane shopping precincts.
There will also be a talk on the Families with Friends project which has been running in Brandlesholme for the past two years.
The project, which is funded by the Home Office, is one of only three nationally and is targeted at low income, young families living in deprived communities within relatively affluent wards.
The meeting will take place at Bolton Road Methodist Church, Bolton Road, Bury. Refreshments will be available at 6.30pm and the formal meeting will start at 7pm.
