ON October 7, my family and I attended the "Looked After Children Achievement Awards" at the Elizabethan Suite, Bury.
What a fabulous evening, not only for the children but for parents and carers as well. The mayor and mayoress were present, as was David Chaytor MP, and everyone was in good spirits.
The room was decked-out beautifully for the children and the awards ceremony itself was a joy to behold. My two foster daughters and my own children had a wonderful time, which they will remember for years to come.
So I would like to say a big "thank you" to the organisers at Social Services. I did ring to ask for the names of the people involved in organising the event, but got the impression it was a collective effort by everyone there.
Thank you also to all the sponsors; you brought a great deal of pleasure to the "looked after" children in Bury.
