AN East Lancashire nursing home has become one of the first in the country to achieve the prestigious Business in the Community Mark.
The Manor House, Chatburn, which opened in 1984, is one of just seven businesses in the North West to achieve the award. Owners Chris and Janet Harrison held a celebration for over 100, including people from schools, colleges and other local businesses.
Janet said: "Creating good relationships with our local community has ensured that even though many independent care homes have had to close due to lack of correct funding, we have remained a thriving business in the process of expanding."
