AFTER their midweek 2-2 draw against Great Harwood Town, Atherton Colls travelled to top of the table Fleetwood Town in good heart, although three key players were missing.
They got off to a dream start when new signing from Salford City Anthony Johnson gave them the lead.
With Colls dominating, they had further chances to score again but Nick Fisher had a shot well saved with only the keeper to beat.
The local side were made to pay for missed chances on 32 minutes when Mark Wane equalised after a goalmouth melee. Colls finished the half in good style when Johnson scored his second with a superb shot from 20 yards.
Fleetwood got more into the game in the second half and Colls cause wasn't helped when influential midfielder Andy Walker had to be substituted with a hamstring injury. Fleetwood equalised on 70 minutes from a disputed free kick and with three minutes remaining Phil Thompson scored from close range to give them an undeserved win.
Abbey Hey are the visitors to Alder House this Saturday.
