I AGREE entirely with what Cllr Jon Barry said in his letter last week.
Traffic calming measures are a complete waste of time because most cars just go astride road humps and don't slow down
Barley cop Lane, Lancaster, is a perfect example - only about one in five cars drive at 20mph while most travel at 35 to 40mph or even faster, using it as a short cut and making it very dangerous. The elderly do not stand a chance.
