SO NOW Lancaster's Labour led cabinet has pulled the plug on the Festival of Light and Water.
This comes just a few weeks after it axed weather station reports at 5pm, resulting in no mention of Morecambe in the national press. Next in line could be public toilets at the Arndale Centre, Torrisholme Square and Bare promenade.
Why do I get the feeling that Labour is trying to bleed Morecambe slowly to death.
As Jim Catterall of the resort's hotel association said last week: " They are trying to make More-cambe a suburb of Lancaster."
There are 50,000 of us who live in Morecambe and it's up to us to ensure that Lancaster does not erase Morecambe's identity. As a 'Sandgrownun', I will fight to make sure it never happens!
