CALLS were made for a roundabout to be axed after the 17th accident in a matter of months.
A steady stream of motorists had crashed at the junction of Dunoon Drive and Shadsworth Road, Blackburn, since the layout was introduced earlier in the year.
Lancashire County Council said there was always a period where drivers got used to new layouts.

A DARWEN dad-of-two won £100 damages after being refused a job because he was a man.
Terry Wilkinson, of Dove Lane, was awarded the cash after telling an industrial tribunal of his feelings of outrage after being refused a job at Darwen toy firm Dellacourt Ltd.
Mr Wilkinson, 31, said the £100 did not help much as the electricity had been cut off at his home and the family were forced to use candles for light.

"WE have no bananas" was the cry from Blackburn greengrocers.
As striking dockers in London went back to work unloading perishable cargos local fruit sellers said they were hoping some of it could be salvaged.
Storerooms in which green bunches of bananas ripened were near empty.
Wholesalers said it was the most severe shortage he had known for more than a year and would take three months to recover.
