HOUSING bosses today vowed to continue tackling anti-social behaviour after a Padiham family were ordered to get out of their luxury house following a catalogue of alleged threats, intimidation and violence towards neighbours.

Janis and John Gabriel and their three sons must leave the house in Garden Street after a judge made a possession order on the property.

The order heard at Burnley County Court was brought by Calico Housing for the Gabriels' breach of tenancy which included alleged threats to blow up neighbours; verbal abuse and threats to neighbours; serious criminal activities; money lending; money laundering; possession of class B drugs; and alteration to the property without permission.

Housing chiefs hope the order will bring to an end to what they claim is the family's regime of intimidation and terror on the estate.

Mrs Gabriel, 49, a mother-of-seven, already faces a possible jail term after she was convicted of money laundering last week.

Burnley Crown Court heard that despite claiming state handouts the family had a swimming pool, sauna and plasma TV.

Karen Ainsworth, Anti-Social Behaviour Manager for Calico Housing, today said: "This is a significant victory for Calico Housing in its stand against nuisance and anti-social tenants because it sends a clear message."
