CLOSE Park is one of the safest and best maintained in the country.
That is the view of the Civic Trust and government parks group CBE Space which has presented the Radcliffe park with a Green Flag award for 2005.
The awards are given annually to green spaces and this years 253 winners range from town centre parks to nature reserves.
All the sites have shown the commitment to sustainability and involvement in the local community.
Close Park is one of 80 given the award in the north west.
