OVER 50 children from 15 Leigh Excellence Cluster schools took part in "Let the Children Speak" organised and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Leigh and held at Leigh Masonic Hall.
An enthusiastic and appreciative audience enjoyed a variety of subjects chosen by the children which ranged from descriptions and athletic displays of martial arts through to the problems of living with diabetes to the issues of adapting to life in Leigh after moving from Iran.
Presenting each child with an engraved salver, Rotary president John Jackson said: "These children, all from local primary schools, have amazed us with their confidence and knowledge.
"The Rotary Club of Leigh is delighted to support this event and will continue to do so.
"Great credit goes to the staff of the schools who work so hard to prepare the children and to the relatives and friends who are here tonight to support them."
LEC chairman Alan Dutton said: "This is a wonderful event which could have been lost when the Leigh Education Action Zone closed but, with Rotary support, it has a sustainable future."
