IT was a disappointing display by the Sedgley lads, up against a big, useful Oldham side.

The first fifteen minutes were fairly even and an Oldham try was quickly cancelled out by one from Sedgley centre Adam Glover, who sliced through a wrong-footed defence.

Oldham then pressed in the period leading up to half-time, and strong running from their backs resulted in a converted try and a 12-5 interval lead.

The second half continued in similar vein, with Oldham always looking thestronger.

Sedgley tended to run sideways and to kick away hard earned possession, though the tackling was excellent and restricted the visitors to two further tries, both converted.

The Oldham right winger scored one of them with a fine run from his own half, and he also made the second, finding support on his inside for an excellent team try.

In between, Sedgley enjoyed a period of pressure that deserved some reward, but there could be no overall complaint about the result.
