LUTEL James believes he can only benefit from his loan spell at Droylsden.

And the Accrington Stanley striker has made his aims clear for the three-month deal after falling out of favour with manager John Coleman.

"I need to be playing first team football again," said James, who is likely to start for Conference North side Droylsden at Nuneaton tomorrow.

"I'm not happy about going out on loan because I want to play for Stanley. I'm just not getting the opportunity to do that.

"I need to stop keeping the bench warm. It was my choice to go on loan because I know I will come back sharper, fitter and stronger."

The 32-year-old's future has been under the microscope since he went on the transfer list last month.

Conference rivals Leigh RMI and Scarborough both made enquiries about signing James, as well as Conference North clubs Runcorn, Stalybridge Celtic, Harrogate and Droylsden, but a permanent move was never agreed.

However, St Kitts and Nevis international James, who can be called back if required after his first full month on loan, hopes he will benefit from a change of scenery.

"When the team's playing 4-4-2 and I don't get to play up front, you know it's time (to go)," he said.

"I don't want to knock the players who are involved in the first team because I genuinely hope they do well. But if I can't be involved in it I want to get on with playing until I'm selected."
