BARNOLDSWICK'S answer to the Full Monty are hoping to crack America by taking their charity calendars to the bright lights of Las Vegas.

The Calendar Boys, who tell people to 'keep it clean' in their day job as recycling workers at Sita, bared all for the saucy fundraiser for a second year, this time to help Barnoldswick and Earby Bosom Friends - a cancer support group.

This year's chosen charity is close to all their hearts because Mr September, Jimmy Hamer, has prostate cancer and now his pal Mr January has decided to take the calendars across the Atlantic to try to match in dollars the £3,000 the team has raised so far.

Mario Polvani said: "Las Vegas is buzzing with people.

"I'm going to start off at the hotel and then go round local television, radio and newspapers and hopefully it will snowball from there.

"If we can raise the same amount of money there as we have done over here that would be fantastic." The calendar is the brainchild of Jennifer Purcell and Dianne Hodkinson and their work has attracted the attention of Channel Four who followed them and their models around the countryside as they put the shots together.

The pair are delighted with Mario's idea and have already tested the American market at Skipton market.

Jennifer said: "We're doing it for Jimmy and we're going to raise as much money as possible.

"I think it's a wonderful idea - I just hope he doesn't get stopped going through customs. American women have got a better sense of humour as well, I think it will be brilliant.

"We've already sent a lot of calendars out to America, to friends and relatives. We were at Skipton market last Saturday and there were some tourists there and they bought some. They thought it was better than the Calendar Girls."
