Brave Leigh gave runaway leaders Barnet the fright of their lives, only to be left broken-hearted by another last-minute defeat.

Lee Roache's last-gasp winner completed Barnet's fightback after Leigh's Karl Rose and Gareth Stoker had turned the game on its head with two goals in the first 21 minutes.

Giuliano Grazioli fired Barnet ahead in the second minute, but after RMI's double strike Nick Bailey drew the Londoners level with a scorching 25-yarder in the second-half.

Experienced defender Barry Miller was sent off for a second yellow card on the hour and although Leigh reorganised, they held out until Roache rammed home an 18-yard strike with just 10 seconds left.

The result, which denied RMI only their second win of the season, left manager Geoff Lutley with mixed emotions.

"It is heartbreaking the way the game ended, but I wish our fans could have seen the performance because it gives us all hope," he said. "We matched them stride for stride and played very positive. It was a magnificent performance and we deserved something out of the game.

"We were the subject of two bad refereeing decisions. Miller should never have been sent off and then when they scored we had a player lying on the ground with a head injury but the official played on and some of our lads had switched off.

"It would have been a magnificent result if we could have got a draw with 10 men. Their manager said that was the hardest game anyone had given them this season."

It was not Lutley's day as he lost three players before the kick-off. Full-back Chris Lane was shaken up after being involved in car crash, new signing Stephen Skinner, from Carlisle, failed to make the trip when the train he was on was derailed and Stockport County reserve Alex Lord, who had signed for the club two days earlier, failed to show up.
