KIRSTY Howard, the charity fund-raiser with a £5 miliion target to help her friends at Francis House Children's Hospice, collected 50 Bents' Bears from the Glazebury garden centre.
Bents has donated bears to different causes including Pendlebury Children's Hospital, but next year the Centre has decided to focus all its fund-raising attention on one charity - the Kirsty Millennium Appeal in aid of Francis House Children's Hospice.
Centre owner Ron Bent said: "After hearing about Kirsty's aim to reach a target of £5million - a set figure which would secure the future of the hospice - we made the decision to focus all our fund-raising activities for 2005 towards her charity.
"We were so taken with her bravery and tireless campaigning that we wanted to be able to help Kirsty reach her target. There are many other brave children all of whom are supported by the hospice so we thought the Bents bear would help bring a smile to their faces and were delighted that Kirsty agreed to make the special delivery."
