I AM researching my family tree and would like to publish an appeal for information from anyone in the area.
The family ancestors were all Blackburn - born and bred.
Michael Knowles was baptised at St Mary's, Blackburn in 1805. He married Mary Pomfret at St Mary's in 1825 and there were six children.
Joseph was born in 1828 and married Alice Lang in 1849 at St Mary's.
I have only traced one child, Michael, born in 1852, who married Rose Anne Winkley in 1871 at St Mary's, Clitheroe.
There were five children, the eldest being Joseph (my grandfather), who married Elizabeth Ann Collinson (of Stalmine, Lancs) in 1895 at Christ Church, Walmsley, Egerton, Lancs.
The family also had connections with Crawshawbooth in that John (child of Michael mentioned first) had 10 children, three born in Blackburn and seven in Crawshawbooth.
